Rock Sushi began in the picturesque fishing village of Hermanus in 2004, when owner of the Harbour Rock Restaurant, Francois Barnard, decided to expand the repertoire of his highly successful seaside restaurant. A Master Sushi chef was headhunted, and alterations on a new kitchen within the building began.

Our Head Sushi Chef, Louis Jiang, has been with us from the beginning, and it is through his dedication and years of training that the Rock Sushi brand has grown from strength to strength. Beautifully fresh fish, perfectly seasoned and steamed rice, piquant ginger and fiery wasabi, are trimmed, rolled and sliced into edible art forms, that are a testament to both the ingredients and skill involved.

Rock Sushi had now opened in Meadowridge Cape Town, under the watchful eye of Louis Jiang. His presence ensures the same relentless pursuit of quality and presentation.
